This project reimagines an existing family home to better support contemporary living, transforming it into a calm, functional and light-filled environment tailored to its occupants.

A careful and considered approach retains the original form and proportions, allowing the house to sit comfortably within the established streetscape, while introducing a refined contemporary language.

The design draws on the local material palette, balancing familiarity with a confident modern expression and incorporating sustainable technologies where appropriate.

At ground floor, the layout has been reconfigured to create a generous open-plan kitchen and dining space that connects directly to the garden, complemented by a more intimate separate living room. The existing attached garage is retained, ensuring practicality remains integral to the design.

The first floor has been expanded to provide four bedrooms, including a new master suite, alongside a well-proportioned family bathroom. The arrangement is carefully planned to maximise natural light, views and everyday usability.

Externally, a layered palette of render and vertical timber cladding reflects the character of the surrounding area, while standing seam metal detailing and contemporary glazing introduce a crisp, modern edge. The result is a home that feels both rooted in its context and confidently forward-looking.
