Heritage & Restoration:
Extensive repair and conservation works to the Grade II listed Regency villa including Roman cement replacement, restoration of historic detailing and treatment of crazed and delaminating paintwork.

The project involved significant conservation and repair works throughout the existing building, including the restoration and replacement of traditional Roman cement render, alongside the careful treatment of crazed and delaminating historic paint finishes. A sensitive, fabric-first approach was adopted throughout, ensuring the character and proportions of the original Regency architecture were retained and enhanced.

To the rear, a lightweight contemporary extension creates a striking contrast to the historic building while remaining visually subservient to the original house.

Defined by clean horizontal lines, slim-framed glazing and a floating zinc roof canopy, the extension opens seamlessly onto the landscaped garden through large frameless sliding doors, creating a strong connection between internal and external living spaces.

Internally, the scheme was centred around the creation of a new architecturally designed kitchen and dining space, alongside a utility room, boot room, dog wash and concealed pantry.

Drawing inspiration from the client’s generationally owned antique furniture, bespoke moulding details were carefully developed and reinterpreted throughout the cabinetry and joinery to create a timeless and deeply personal interior language.

A particular highlight of the project is the series of bespoke pocket doors, designed using immersive 3D modelling technology and crafted as functional pieces of joinery art. Featuring refined shadow gap detailing, elegant arched heads and antique brass finishes, the doors combine contemporary precision with traditional craftsmanship.

The result is a home that carefully bridges heritage and modernity, restoring the elegance of the original Regency villa while introducing refined contemporary spaces tailored to modern living.
